Hi there! My name is Kayla Jolie, a web designer and developer born, raised and based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. My hobbies include writing, art and programming. My real passion, however, is doing my part to bring out the best in your business and brand through aesthetically pleasing, user-centric, responsive and accessible website design.

Trained by the prestigious Digital Media and IT program at NAIT, bearing both a diploma and a spot on the Dean’s Honour Roll, and assisted by my trusty mascot Tom, I can’t wait to get into my next project. Maybe it'll be yours?

Atomic Improv

This was my Capstone project at NAIT, and my first time working for a real client. My main jobs were writing code (HTML, PHP, JavaScript, the more finicky CSS), setting up the WordPress backend and fixing bugs. Overall I am very happy with the result, and proud to say our client is actively using the site to this day!

This was a design project completed during my time at NAIT. Anthony is a chef who needed a landing page for his recipe website, and I was tasked with putting together a design composition for him. Using the Figma app and keeping in mind best web practices, I put together what I consider to be quite the attractive website.

Edmonton Attractions

A basic CRUD (Create, Read, Update and Delete) application, cataloguing various attractions located around Edmonton. Built using PHP and SQL and designed using Bootstrap. Beneath it is the architecture underpinning most of the net, and I can't wait to use what I learned from it in another project.
